Những câu đồng dao quen thuộc ấy cứ ngân vang mãi trong chúng ta mỗi độ trung thu về. Đã tự bao giờ, trung thu là trở thành ngày tết của thiếu nhi với bao trò chơi, hoạt động sôi nổi như: Múa Lân, rước đèn, phá cỗ đêm trăng,…

Để tìm lại những nét đẹp truyền thống xưa và cũng để chuẩn bị cho chương trình POC 9, POC team đã tìm đến một làng nghề làm đèn ông sao truyền thống từ rất lâu đời ở ngoại thành Hà Nội. Đó là làng Hậu Ái, xã Vân Canh, huyện Hoài Đức, HN. Không kể trời mưa to, lần mò tìm địa chỉ và những con đường lầy lội bùn đất mà không ít lần bị ngã xe. Với tất cả niềm đam mê văn hóa Việt, chúng tôi hi vọng mang đến cho các bạn trẻ một cái nhìn mới mẻ về đồ chơi Trung Thu truyền thống của dân tộc ta.

Ngay từ xa xưa, các cụ ta đã quan niệm những món đồ chơi và trò chơi chính là công cụ hữu ích để giáo dục, nuôi dưỡng tâm hồn con người. Và dường như, bất kì món đồ chơi truyền thống nào cũng đều có linh hồn của riêng nó. Đằng sau chiếc đèn ông sao, ông Tiến sĩ giấy, tò he, mặt nạ…là bao câu chuyện và tâm huyết của ông cha gìn giữ từ ngàn đời nay. 

Trong số tất cả những thứ đồ chơi của trẻ em ngày Trung Thu, đáng kể nhất vẫn là ông Tiến sĩ giấy được đặt ở nơi cao đẹp nhất, xung quanh là bánh trái hoa quả và đèn trang trí mà đã được “ Tam nguyên Yên Đổ” trào phúng bằng những câu thơ:           

                       

                        “ Cũng cờ, cũng biển, cũng cân đai.

                          Cũng gọi ông nghè có kém ai

                          Mảnh giấy làm nên thân giáp bảng

                          Nét son điểm rõ mặt văn khôi          

                          Tấm thân xiêm áo sao mà nhẹ?

                          Cái giá khoa danh thế mới hời

                          Ghế chéo, lọng xanh ngồi bảnh chọe

                          Nghĩ rằng đồ thật, hóa đồ chơi”

                                  

Không chỉ được sử dụng trong dịp lễ Trung Thu, ngày xưa người lớn cũng thường mua ông Tiến sĩ giấy để tặng cho con trẻ vào đầu năm học với hy vọng món quà ý nghĩa này sẽ khuyến khích các em chăm chỉ học hành hơn.

Ngoài ra, không thể thiểu trong dịp Trung Thu là những chiếc đèn ông sao sặc sỡ sắc màu. Để làm ra được một chiếc đèn ông sao, các nghệ nhân phải vất vả trải qua nhiều công đoạn rất công phu, kỹ lưỡng: từ chọn nứa cho đến cắt dán. Nan dùng làm đèn ông sao phải được chẻ bằng loại nứa, đốt dài thì mới có độ dẻo để uốn khung đèn. 

Cô Nguyễn Thị Tuyến – nghệ nhân duy nhất còn làm đèn ông sao ở làng Hậu Ái giải thích cho chúng tôi nguồn gốc và ý nghĩa của từng món đồ chơi. Làm quen với các loại đồ chơi Trung thu từ nhỏ, xuất thân trong một gia đình có 4 đời truyền thống làm đồ chơi trung thu truyền thống, năm nay ở tuổi 48 nhưng cô Tuyến đã có gần 40 năm gắn bó với nghề. Với mong muốn giữ nghề truyền thống để mang thêm nhiều niềm vui đến cho trẻ em khắp thôn xóm, chị đã chấp nhận tất cả, một mực gắn bó với những kéo, những giấy, những hồ, những tre nứa... kiên trì, tỉ mỉ hoàn thiện món đồ chơi như ý. Tuy không mang lại hiệu quả kinh tế và cũng không đủ người làm nên mỗi vụ Trung thu, cô Tuyến chỉ duy trì làm với số lượng cầm chừng. Một phần để giao cho Bảo tàng Dân tộc học, một phần cho phố Cổ, trường học và một số để phục vụ các gia đình trong làng, nhắc nhở các cháu nhớ về những đồ chơi của tổ tiên, cha ông.

Chuyến đi tuy ngắn ngủi nhưng đã để lại cho chúng tôi những cảm xúc chợt ùa về của một mùa trung thu quá khứ. Lâu lắm rồi, những đứa trẻ thành phố như chúng tôi mới biết đến ông tiến sĩ giấy, ông đánh gậy là gì và cảm thấy như được sống lại với tuổi thơ của mình. Vì thế, POC  rất mong muốn đem lại cho các bạn cảm giác đó trong chương trình số 9 với chủ đề Trung Thu – Halloween.

POC 8 - Sari (India) vs. Ao dai (Vietnam)

The strong sun of summer could not stop the hottest event of Hanoikids on July - POC. If you were there to watch POC 8, your feeling must have been very complicated and interesting.

The program gave knowledge on traditional costumes of two countries: Viet Nam – India. You MUST know about our Ao dai, right? And you MUST have heard about India’s Saree. Yes, POC 8 was where you can find everything you want to know about these amazing costume: their beauty, their fame, similarities and differences. MrThank to our dedicated guests, Ms. Nguyen Hong Thuy and Mr. Kaustubh Trivedi, the audience got to know more about history and development of these beautiful dresses. Everyone was impressed right at the very first minutes of the show, when seeing our two guests in traditional costumes of the OTHER nation: Mr. Kaustubh in Ao dai (for male) and Ms. Thuy in a blue saree (which we had to ask Mr. Kaustubh’s wife to dress for her in a very Indian way!). However, the most interesting part of the talk show is that Mr.Kaustubh shared a lot of his own experience with Saree. There is no better way of learning a culture than by asking a native resident, right? A great bunch of thanks to POC teams for organizing this amazing cultural event and to all the audience, thank you very much for having come and joined with us in this opening show PIECES OF CULTURE 8.

Additionally, one special thing about POC No.08 was the funny dancing contest that included performances of couples chosen from our terrific audiences. Some movement and motion in a talk show made audiences closer and received lots of laughter and cheers from people.

OK, now let’s come to the most exciting part: Experience. Through 7 earlier episodes of POC, we realized that our audience were always interested so much in this part. This time, they were divided into small group with a task of wearing a saree. Wait! Just wear a saree? That sounds too easy? No, if you were there and saw the intructing clip: everyone had to struggle to follow. However, that made the atmosphere more fun and exciting. After wearing the saree prepared for on member of the team, they started to decorate their works. Oh, their imagination! We did not expect so amazing designs!

Happy Birthday to POC!!!

You DID hear about POC? You DID present at POC? You ALREADY fall in love with POC and Hanoikids? So now clap your hands and sing with us Happy Birthday to POC. POC is now 1 year old, and yesterday evening, April 16th 2011, Kids held an appealing party to celebrate this 1 year anniversary. “Cool!!!” It was the exact word to describe the party. The canteen of FTU had never been colorful and brilliant than that. There were two pretty girls in traditional dresses greeting guests in a very professional manner, which surprised Kids a lot. A great bunch of thanks to our awesome POC team staff. The atmosphere was absolutely hot right at the very first moment of the party. Tung “Kun” – a newbie – started the glamorous show with his amazing and, yes, sexy dance performance. Everyone, especially girls, excitedly cried out his name. After that, the room was even hotter with the game “What country is this song from”, which received much attention and interest from the audience. Then came a humorous role play about POC with the cast of POC actresses and actors. The comeback of Tran Anh Dai Ja after a long time, as predicted, added more funny “spices” to the dish. The very very very old member Croreve also showed on stage with his guitar and singer Vit coi, making a duet performance of the song “Fall for you”. After a time for music, games and fun quizzes, then it was time to talk about POC. A clip was prepared to summarize the long way POC had gone through. 3 leaders have been in charge of POC to bring it up each day, making POC a popular program among Hanoi students. Watching the clip, POC team and other members who were dedicated to POC were very touched; Mr. Phi, the second former leader of POC, told that he even wanted to cry (so nice our Kids’ boys!). Our awesome guests from other clubs in Hanoi brought us many cute gifts. Femec gave the most amazing gift: a beautiful handmade postcard and a HOT performance. They were very friendly and excited; it is so nice to have friends like that. Another game came and again heated the room. The party was going to the end, but no one seemed tired or bored. We ended up singing together, hugging each other and showing the very “Kids” spirit. We stood there together, the oldies and the newbies; there seemed to be no space between us anymore. That moment, like many other moments of Kids, would stay forever in our mind. It was a party full of joy and feelings. After such a long time busy with school, assignments,…, thanks to POC team we had a good time together. Happy birthday, Pieces of Culture, and hope it will grow bigger and more popular in the years to come

POC 5 - Clay Flower (Japan) vs. Tò He (Vietnam)

Today, October 3^rd, was a busy Sunday for Kids, as after a long time waiting, we were there in Hanoi University for Pieces of Culture 5. Clay flower and To He, two main “characters” of the show, really bring Japanese and Vietnamese cultures closer.

The show started with a small funny warming up game with balloons, of which the losers were to dance Hanoi boogie – a recent traditional dance of Hanoikids!).

Music stopped is the time to begin our topic: Clay flower and To He. Mr. Aiki Hiro from Japan Embassy and two To He craftsmen, Chu Tien Cong and Le Van Nhuong were the guest speakers of the show sharing with us everything about these interesting features.

So let us tell you what you missed if you did not come to POC 5. We had a nice talk with our guests about clay flower and To He, their ways of making and many other techniques. Everyone was so curious that many questions were raised during the talk show. It was a really hot atmosphere as audiences listened enthusiastically to secrets revealed by the guests, and burst into laughs when the friendly craftsmen told funny stories about their profession.

The most wanted session named “Discussion and debate” came with a masterpiece presented by Team Clip. The romantic video brought us a contrast story of a husband willing to die for his true love and a wife, unfortunately, obsessed by e-game. So, the topic “e-game and traditional game, which one is better?” has raised a wide range of opinions among audience.

Last but not least, a golden chance to make your own To he came!!! Lovely pigs with various colors , sizes and shapes were creatively designed by our interesting audiences thanks to the help from our craftsmen.

Pieces of Culture 5 ended sparkly in the rhythm of Hanoi boogie when all Hanoikids happily came on stage and danced. Can’t wait to see another Pieces of Culture!
