POC 3 Wedding Etiquette in Britain and Vietnam

Written by Do Thi Hong Dung

After colourful success of POC 1 and 2, Hanoikids club continues

holding another interesting talk show about one of the most wonderful cultural topics of countries in the world – Wedding etiquette, in which Britain’s and Vietnam’s wedding cultures were the two considered objects.

Sunday, May 30th 2010 was a fascinating day of any Hanoikids members and POC participants when emerging themselves in such a romantic, sweet and lovely environment of Pieces of culture.

Thanks to the presence of Mrs. Pham Thi Hanh – Director of TOPLEARN English center, Mrs. Sue Featherstone and Mr. Jack Marrow – A happy couple and English teachers of TOPLEARN, wedding features were figured out

clearly, informatively and humorously. When Mrs. Hanh gave detailed presentation about steps of traditional and modern Vietnamese wedding, our Britain couple showed POC’s audiences a very Western way of love and wedding in the UK. Open style of presenters made the show a friendly zone for youngsters. They indeed inspired audiences to love actually and to respect beautiful customs of this important milestone of a life time – Wedding ceremony.

Besides, the familiar and unique feature of POC is always the clips acted by funny and creative Hanoikids. This time, a short clip was about a young couple asking for wedding permission from the girl’s parents. Vietnam countryside sceneries in combination with humorous factors such as a greedy fortune teller, fussy parents and a foreign son – in – law have given a big laugh to the audiences.

Additionally, a new special thing of POC No.03 was the funny dancing

contest that included performances of couples chosen from our terrific audiences. Some movement and motion in a talk show made it closer and more comfortable to the audiences.

Love is a hot topic of all time and of all people in the world. Though it is not a new issue, the way Hanoikids club demonstrate it and bring it to youngsters is special and unique. Hopefully, thanks to this May POC, Vietnamese youth will have a better understanding of wedding culture in countries and will be more aware of preserving the specialties of our wedding customs.

Also, wish everyone a true love story forever.
